McDonald’s

Fire-damaged McDonald’s on Bardstown Road to be demolished and rebuilt as a larger 4,419-square-foot modern restaurant next to Costco. Demolition begins mid-April, new foundation by late July.

Four-story boutique hotel (including basement) to be built on the site of the old Donald Hotel that burned several years ago. Site plan unanimously approved by Grant County Planning Commission. Must be started within two years of approval.

Italian-Cuban restaurant opening in former Mark’s Feed Store location. First floor (Paseo del Prado) opens late April/early May, second floor (Aria) opens summer 2026. Features upscale experiential dining with Havana-inspired decor, outdoor seating, and menu items like arroz con pollo and Cuban pizzas.

The Capital Grille

Luxury steakhouse chain preparing to open new Louisville location with Executive Chef Partner Chris McIntosh overseeing culinary operations. Features elegant interior with bar, Golden Room dining area, and wine kiosk.

Cook Out

Cook Out filed construction permit to renovate former Rally’s location. North Carolina-based fast food chain specializing in barbecue, burgers, hot dogs, milkshakes and floats. Construction timeline and opening date not yet announced.

Marriott TownePlace Suites

Four-story extended stay hotel with 128 rooms on 1.05 acres, costing $12 million to build. Development will preserve and renovate a historic home on Jefferson Street.
