McMenamins converting former Taft Home into 63-room hotel with gift shop, three restaurants/bars and skybridge to Crystal Ballroom. Renovation underway on 1907 property designed by Edgar Lazarus.

Eugene Hot Pot Express

Hot pot restaurant offering create-your-own dining experience with homemade soup bases, variety of meats, noodles and veggies. Owners previously ran Chinese restaurant for 20 years. Will offer gluten-free and vegetarian options.

Rain and Rye

Mobile bar experience opening at Delta Carts food cart pod. Full bar on wheels with signature cocktails, four taps, rooftop seating area accessible by spiral staircase, and fold-down patio areas. Co-owned by Kevin Candelaria and Colin Costanzo.

Sumo Sushi and Grill

Japanese AYCE sushi restaurant chain opening in Portland on Hayden Island, occupying former Shari’s Cafe and Pies location. Offers silver and gold tier buffets with sushi, hand rolls, teppanyaki and entrees. Will be open 11 a.m. to 9:30 p.m.

Lumiere Bakery

Vietnamese-European fusion bakery planned by owners of The Bamiti restaurant. Will occupy 1,479 square feet in Beaverton Central Garage ground floor commercial space. Will offer morning baked goods, afternoon coffee, and desserts.

Dorothy’s

New restaurant concept with video lottery machines, owned by Prosperity Entertainment. Will operate 9am-12am Sun-Wed, 9am-1am Thu-Sat. Taking over space currently occupied by Jo’s Deli in shopping plaza anchored by Midpoint Food and Drink.

Kulfi

South Asian ice cream shop specializing in kulfi moving into 1,008 square-foot space in Beaverton Central Parking Garage ground floor. Co-owned by Kiran Cheema and Gagan Aulakh who already operate a location on N Williams Ave.
