Switchback Coffee and Beer

Outdoorsy coffee shop and beer spot opening in partnership between Ethan Wagner and Grace Nichols. Will feature coffee, beer, ciders, matcha drinks, cocktails, pastries and snacks. Interior will have natural colors with plants and windows, plus a courtyard with disc golf baskets. Seating for 40-50 guests.

Bartlett’s

Bartlett’s is expanding with a new location in the former Threadgill’s space. The restaurant will feature a live-fire grill and American chophouse classics like steaks, pork chops and roasted chickens. Will be jointly operated with MML Hospitality handling service and culinary operations.

Mama Lin’s Soup & Leaves

All-you-can-eat soup and salad restaurant with Asian fusion concept from the family behind Soupleaf Hot Pot. 11,000 square-foot space with seating for 300 people, featuring buffet setup with some a-la-carte items planned.

Zavodny Food Court

Food court with mobile food trailers planned for the Jerry Fay Wilhelm Center for the Performing Arts. Construction estimated at $189,000.

Texas Roadhouse

Texas Roadhouse steakhouse filing permit for new 7,926 square foot location with bar. Construction set to begin July 13, 2026 and wrap by October 19, 2026, with opening expected in late autumn or early winter.

Luzia Coffee Shop

Family-run coffee shop opening first location in Greater Houston region. $200,000 construction project on 1600 sq ft space. Menu will feature specialty coffee, espresso drinks, handcrafted lattes, teas, fresh baked goods, and light breakfast/brunch options.

16 Handles

16 Handles ice cream/frozen yogurt shop opening in Pin Oak Plaza. Construction slated to start in March and wrap up by end of May. Franchisee Garett Francis opening with his wife. Self-serve fro-yo concept with customizable desserts, smoothies, milkshakes.

Comfort Foodies

Comfort Foodies is expanding to Missouri City with a 3,000 square foot location offering Southern Soul food and Dominican-Caribbean flavors. The new location will seat 50-60 guests and introduce a full bar and happy hour offerings for the first time. Founded by Afro-Latina chef Elsa and her husband Jeff Matthews.

El Trompo Loco #4

Fourth location of El Trompo Loco family restaurant chain specializing in authentic Mexican food including Trompo (pork meat cooked Monterrey style), Mexican hamburgers, and baked potatoes. Owner transitioning from food truck to brick-and-mortar in same shopping center.

Honest Mary’s

Second Houston location of Austin-born healthy dining concept opening in new Greenside development. Offers customizable bowls with organic ingredients, no artificial ingredients, no refined sugars, and no hormone-loaded meat. Buildout begins spring 2026.
