29-year-old Kim Rowland taking over ownership of beloved diner famous for pork tenderloin sandwiches. New owner has been taught recipes and will continue same menu with addition of chocolate milkshakes.

Mokas Coffee & Eatery

Fourth Wichita location of Mokas Coffee & Eatery planned for corner of Central and Oliver. Construction expected to begin in August 2026 with 6-month build timeline. Restaurant serves coffee drinks, smoothies, energy drinks, pastries, sandwiches, soups and salads.

Kata Nori Hand Roll Bar

Hand roll sushi bar expanding from Crossroads location to Johnson County. Will feature U-shaped sushi bar, table service, full cocktail bar, and specializes in temaki hand rolls.

Brew Haha Coffeehouse

Second location of Brew Haha coffeehouse opening in Shawnee, just off Shawnee Mission Parkway. Serves coffee roasted in-house, house-made syrups, tea, and gluten-free pastries with drive-thru service.

Tanner’s Bar & Grill

Tanner’s Bar & Grill is relocating from their 119th Street location to a new location at 125th and Quivira Road, at the site of a previously closed Lamar’s Donuts. The restaurant is working toward opening mid-year.

Brown Suga

Second location of Brown Suga cookie store opening in Park Place, Leawood. Plans to operate Monday-Saturday 10am-8pm. First location is in Olathe.

Dick’s Steak & Oyster

High-end steakhouse and oyster bar opening in former Winstead’s location. Will serve wet-aged and dry-aged steaks, 200 wines, and coastal oysters. Features 148 indoor seats plus 138-seat outdoor patio. Owned by Kevin Timmons who also owns Nick & Jake’s chain.

Q39

Q39 barbecue restaurant based in Kansas City is expected to open in late February. Hours will be 11 a.m. to 9 p.m. Sunday through Thursday, and 11 a.m. to 10 p.m. Friday and Saturday. Will offer dine-in, carry out and delivery.
