Seven-story, 96-key hotel project approved by Boston Planning. Will be Boston’s first hotel under Net Zero Carbon Zoning. To be built on site currently occupied by Advance Auto Parts store. Includes public realm improvements with landscaping, sidewalks, street trees, and pedestrian connections.
The Halal Fusion
Second location of halal fusion restaurant expanding from Mattapan. Will feature customizable rice bowls, chicken wings, sliders, and signature house-made sauces. All meat will be Zabiha Halal-certified. Located in former Halal Grill Kabab & Fried Chicken site.
Muffin House Cafe
Seventh location of family-run bakery-café chain expanding to former Dunkin’ space in Cobb Corner Shopping Center. Construction underway with new windows, signage, and patio complete. Will offer 25 indoor seats and 45 outdoor patio seats.
Jimmy John’s
Jimmy John’s opening as a dual-concept location sharing space with existing Dunkin’. Franchisees filed Food Establishment Permit on January 3, 2026. Will feature full Jimmy John’s menu with signature fresh-sliced sandwiches.
Marzae Cellar + Provisions
Natural wine tasting room and retail shop opening in Boston Public Market’s largest retail stall. Features natural wines, aperitifs, non-alcoholic beverages, seasonal New England food, and The Kitchen Counter intimate dining experience with 14-seat counter bar and 10-seat lounge.
Lalo’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar
Third location for Lalo’s Mexican Kitchen & Bar, operated by husband-and-wife duo Vanessa Ceja and Gerardo Guzman. 14,500 square feet with dining area, kitchen, and bar. Liquor license granted Jan. 6.
Coffee Shop
Coffee shop with 1950s diner theme will provide vocational training for adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities and will be open to the public. Part of Melmark New England educational housing development.
Avvio Ristorante
Italian restaurant opening second location at former Uno Pizzeria site in Shops at Blackstone Valley. Owned by Newport Restaurant Group. Renderings visible outside future location.
Cambridge Common House
16-room boutique hotel near Harvard Square designed by Elder & Ash, featuring contemporary design elements and comfortable lounge area. Part of Lark Hotels expansion with four new properties opening in spring 2026.
Encore Boston Harbor Hotel Expansion
Wynn Resorts approved to construct up to two new hotels on property along Lower Broadway. Previously pitched plans included 800 combined guestrooms across two hotels. No new gaming areas allowed in expansion.
