SpringHill Suites and TownePlace Suites Marriott hotels breaking ground in Sherman, Texas at the northwest corner of US 75 and FM 1417

Ray Washburne Convention Hotel

Proposed $800 million, 30-story convention hotel with about 1,000 rooms. Developer is in talks with two major hotel brands but has not identified them. Project would take about 30 months to complete if it moves forward.

Oak & Stone

Oak & Stone is opening a second area location featuring a self-pour tap wall with 50 rotating taps and American cuisine. The 7,000 square foot space will accommodate 340 visitors and serve lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.

Acquolina

Italian trattoria from Aspen expanding to Fort Worth. Roman-style thin crust pizza, pasta, and elevated but approachable menu. Zoning application filed for Camp Bowie Boulevard location.

Bubba’s 33

Bubba’s 33 will occupy a newly erected 7,105 square foot building. Construction begins May 18, 2026 and is set to wrap by November 9, 2026. The restaurant serves scratch-made food including hand-stretched pizza, burgers, wings and salads.

Dave’s Hot Chicken

Dave’s Hot Chicken is opening a new location in Cedar Hill, moving into a renovated 2,590 square foot space. Construction work is set to commence on May 25, 2026, with the franchisee optimistic about being customer-ready by late August 2026.

Portillo’s

Chicago-based chain opening a 6,250 square foot ‘Restaurant of the Future’ design location with outdoor patio, double drive-thru lanes, and seating for 120 guests. Known for Chicago-Style Hot Dogs, Italian Beef Sandwiches, and burgers.
