The Big Four

The Big Four restaurant returns after 6 years of closure, located inside the Huntington Hotel on Nob Hill. The restaurant has undergone transformation by designer Ken Fulk and opens with chef David Intonato serving dishes like chicken pot pie and crab Louie. This marks the restaurant’s 50th anniversary.

The Rustic

The Rustic is opening in the former Dublin Square location in downtown La Crosse. It’s named after another former downtown La Crosse bar.

Understory Oakland

Worker-owned restaurant and community hub preparing to open a new site. Recently submitted liquor license filing. Unclear if this is a second location or relocation of current Fruitvale restaurant. Offers globally inspired menu with vegan and gluten-free options.

Indie Darling

New indie-focused arcade and bar taking over 9,000 square feet across two floors in Mid Market and SOMA Pilipinas. Will feature homebrew arcade cabinets, rare pinball machines, cocktails and non-alcoholic beverages. From the owners of the now-closed Outer Orbit.

Palette Dim Sum & Lounge

Bay Area-based elevated dim sum restaurant opening first Sacramento-area location in former Saigon Alley Kitchen + Bar space at Broadstone Marketplace. Features handcrafted dim sum, premium roast meats, and live seafood with modern Cantonese cuisine.

Lecavalier Winery and Kitchen

Newcastle-based winery expanding to Sacramento with a wine-forward restaurant concept featuring seasonal dishes. Currently pursuing permits for the former Roxy Restaurant & Bar location.

Kai Japanese Cuisine

New Japanese restaurant concept planned by husband-and-wife duo Jing and Rong Chen, taking over the Hello Temaki space. Menu expected to feature Japanese staples with focus on sushi. Paperwork initiated with California Department of Alcoholic Beverage Control.

Der Biergarten

German-inspired beer garden expanding to Old Sacramento waterfront location. 2,000-square-foot outpost with patio and grassy area along Sacramento River boardwalk. Will feature giant pretzels, sausage platters, schnitzel, and locally brewed beers. Second location for the Midtown staple founded by Sean and Erika Derfield.

Spark Social

New Spark Social food truck park location opening in San Jose’s Creekside District, near SAP Center and Diridon Caltrain station. Will feature food trucks, Bay Padel, and canine recreation center. Koja Kitchen has strong possibility of being included.

Angry Chickz

Nashville-style hot chicken concept opening first Watsonville location, marking brand’s 32nd California location and 36th systemwide. Offers made-to-order chicken tenders, sliders, and bowls with customizable heat levels.
